What are affirmations and how do I use them?
Affirmations are not that complicated. Affirmations are phrases you tell yourself to replace negative thoughts/beliefs about yourself. A lot of people use positive affirmations to motivate themselves and to build more self-esteem.
Basically, you tell yourself what you wish was the truth. So if you are insecure about your body, a positive affirmation for you to say to yourself will be “I love my body” or “I respect my body” or “I am thankful for my body”. You can use a phrase that will make you feel the best about saying it.

You replace your negative thought with a positive one. For me personally, I see affirmations as a way to improve your mindset and your self-love. A way to speak kindly to yourself.
A way to be gentle with yourself. Because sometimes we don’t even realize how hard we can be on ourselves. That is why I love affirmations so much. They make me realize how I don’t speak nicely to myself that much. And how often I speak badly about myself and think with negative thoughts.
Affirmations help me to be more positive and feel better about myself.
And I hope they will do the same for you.
How to use positive affirmations?
There are several ways to use affirmations and it is up to you to find a way that works the best for you.
Some people say them out loud, some just in their minds. They can be said during meditation. When you wake up, before you go to bed, or you can write them down. Really, any way is fine, as long as it feels good to you. That is what is most important.
Pick affirmations that work for you and make you feel good. Try to say them as many times as feels good to you. I say them daily. And that works best for me.
Consistency is key. Keep repeating the affirmations that you like to yourself as often as you want.
